Wool rug, 'Garden of Butterflies' (4x5)

By Jenny
Gorgeous
I met Mr. Curi a number of years ago when I was in Peru and bought a number of his pieces then. When I saw his work was available on Novica, I was thrilled. This piece was every bit as beautiful as the ones I bought a decade ago. I would highly recommend any of his pieces. They are all stunning.
Wool area rug, 'Rainbow View' (2.5x5)

Exactly What I Wanted
My girlfriend and I moved from New Jersey to Sedona 8 months ago. We are in the process of decorating in a manner that is southwestern without being cliche, without being cartoonish. We looked at Zapotec rugs in local stores. They were what we were looking for in the way of rugs. I was prepared to pay the high price they were asking, but we didnt find exactly what we wanted. Then I happened on Novica, had never heard of this site, and found exactly what I wanted, for much less money, and a lot more of that money going to the artisan. This piece by Alfredo Ruiz is simply superb!
Wool rug, 'Red Birds on the Wing' (2x5)

Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous!
The red version of this rug doesnt begin to match the picture tonalities. The rug is so exquisite and vibrant I want more offerings in larger sizes. As soon as I laid the rug beside my bed my cat was in complete disbelief, Really, this is for me? She loves it. This is a spectacular piece of art--please consider making a 4x6 and 5x 8 size.

Zapotec wool rug (2.5x5), "Dainzu Earth"
$279.99Brilliant bands of warm earth hues show intricate motifs in orderly geometry. Flanked by a trio of rhomboids, the pattern exemplifies Zapotec artistry. The Ruiz Bazan Family draws on ancestral artistry, weaving an extraordinary rug on the handloom. The soft woolen threads are tinted using natural and artificial dyes. The Ruiz Bazan Family designs the rug in honor of Dainzu, an archeological zone in Oaxaca; the name means "hill of cactus" in the Zapotec language.
Because each rug is individually woven, measurements could vary +/- 2 inches (5 cm) (1.9 in). -
