Original paintings in Mexico
"Comics and animals attract me. I love to capture their essence in a composition. It's a challenge I find exciting.""I'm Daniel Salcedo Medina. From the age of five, I've felt an enormous fascination with drawing. I have an incredible love for drawing — it's been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Much of that love was born from the Disney cartoons I enjoyed as a boy.
"I began drawing back then and my father saw that I always had paper and colors. I feel a need to be always creating things and art gives me this wonderful possibility. I can create with total freedom. I draw every day and it's exciting to observe the process of personal growth.
"I studied visual arts for fine art expression. And through art, I've met the best friends of my life, people who share this passion. We all help one another and, in this way, we've perfected our techniques and essence, along with the guidance of our professor.
"Art has brought me amazing experiences, such as the time I spent five months outside Mexico. It was my drawings that let me get ahead.

"One of my techniques is watercolor. It can be tricky because the paint dries rapidly and requires a great deal of precision. But it's an incredible technique.
"This work has let me spend time with great people and get to know different animal species that I wasn't aware of. This is one of my sources of motivation.
In the future I'd love to obtain a scholarship to continue to grow as an artist. To have my own comics and to consolidate my work as an illustrator."
