Original paintings in Bali and Java
"My paintings show the other side of me with images from the cultural environment around me. Temples, villages, beautiful scenery and other themes related to culture are very interesting for me.""All difficulties and inconveniences are guests in our life. Welcome them with a smiling face and never forget to pray at every moment.
"I was born in Central Java in 1976, in a town known for its cool mountain air and famous campuses. When I was a year old, my parents sent me to my grandparents' house. I don't know their reasons, but I believe they love me very much and want the best for me. I stayed with my grandparents in Kaliwungu village. Its name means 'river with purple water.'
"After junior high school, my parents came for me and I stayed with them until I finished high school. Then I decided to follow my passion for painting. I moved to Jogjakarta with its rich cultural heritage, and studied painting at the Indonesia Art Institution. I've loved to paint since I was a child. The influence of the village environment can be seen in my paintings, which have many Indonesian cultural themes.
"I am very proud of being a citizen of Indonesia, with its natural beauty, cultural diversity and friendly people. I feel like I'm a very lucky person.
"I am married and have three children. Being a parent for me is a big responsibility to make them happy. In any difficult situation, my priority is for my children's happiness.
"Besides painting, in my daily activities, I often do religious social activities that emphasize nationalism for the Indonesian people. The most valuable moment for me to reflect and feel gratitude for God is when I pray for all aspects of my life, starting with the health, happiness and fortune that I have. From that, I think success will follow as I give gratitude by giving back to the less fortunate and giving love to family and friends.
"I usually use acrylic on canvas. I always use tarpaulin canvas, not synthetic, for the best result.
"My friends know me as a kindhearted person, also disciplined, tough and hardworking. But my paintings show the other side of me with images from the cultural environment around me. Temples, villages, beautiful scenery and other themes related to culture are very interesting for me."
