Adams Gasakor selects pastel hues to send a message of well-being through his art. "This painting is really a plea to the people of this world to be cautious of good health and eat more fish," explains the concerned artist.
"I would say that the ability to draw is an innate gift. I love colors and mixing them."
"Ever since I became interested in art, I don't feel like I'm working when I'm painting. I always want to come up with new ideas. The social and environmental issues that take place around me inspire many of my compositions. I dislike imitating others.
"I was born June 7, at Awate-Todzi in the Volta region of Ghana. My friends say I'm an adventurous and funny person.
"I would say that the ability to draw is an innate gift. I love colors and mixing them. At a tender age, I'd get so excited when we had to draw and color objects. Unfortunately, I did not pursue any art courses until I completed senior high school and was uncertain about what I really wanted to do with my life.
"Then I came into contact with Seth Korkordi, a Novica-featured artist. I was happy to see the movement of colors on the compositions I observed him paint. I fell in love with painting and at that moment, I realized that this is what I need to do. I expressed my desire to learn and Seth was so willing to teach me. I studied with him for four years.
"One of the biggest challenges for me has been finding the avenue to sell my paintings. When I finished my studies, I sent my paintings to offices to sell. Seth introduced me to Novica.
"I have not yet taught anybody how to paint, but I know with time I'll get to train many people to become good painters."
