"I firmly believe that, if we each add our own grain of sand, we can help our country achieve the progress that is needed."
An extraordinary woman, Costa Rica's Anabelle Jimenez has a contagious smile. She is a jeweler who creates wonderful designs with unique touches that are inspired by nature and Costa Rica's beautiful landscapes.
"My husband and I have faced some tough times financially. I started seeking alternative ways to bring in some money and discovered the world of jewelry," she says.
"I began taking classes where I learned to perfect my technique. All my designs are totally handcrafted and I take great care with the quality.
"I'm also very careful with my designs, first making sketches on paper. From there, I search for the best options in materials, keeping in mind their impact on the environment. Thanks to the courses I've taken, I've learned to create designs that please all kinds of shoppers — from the most demanding to the most conservative tastes.
"All my materials are purchased locally because here we try to help one another. I firmly believe that, if we each add our own grain of sand, we can help our country achieve the progress that is needed.
"I dream of my workshop growing even larger. With this, I'll be able to offer work to many more people. I'm grateful for this magnificent opportunity to show my designs and share some of Costa Rica's beauty and talent."
