Lacy borders crocheted by hand accentuate the flirty sweep of this black poncho from Alfredo Falcon. The poncho is knitted of a soft alpaca blend with one side longer than the other. Trimmed with crocheted flowers, the neckline cascades to the front and back, allowing for one upper arm to be more visible than the other.
Alfredo's sales have increased more than three times since starting with Novica. He started with only a few assistants and now can offer work to his helpers and several other women who help fill his orders part-time. Many of the women who work for him are now able to provide essentials for their homes like mattresses, refrigerators, and other appliances.
Over twenty years ago, Alfredo was infected with tuberculosis at just 22 years of age. For nine months, he was bedridden and unable to work. Tuberculosis is a deadly disease with more than 5,000 people per day passing away from the disease. Alfredo survived and was able to become healthy again.
Alfredo currently provides full-time jobs to a single mother, a man trying to fund his education, and several women who are bringing income to their households.
Alfredo currently supports English studies for his four nephews, with the hope that it will help them achieve a better future.
Alfredo was recognized by the city hall for his excellent work.
This poncho is even more beautiful than depicted in the photo! It is soft and warm but not bulky at all! The detail in the border and neck is gorgeous. I plan to purchase this in other colors! Exceptional!
