From the Sanskrit word for "circle," the mandala has long been used in the Hindu and Buddhist religions as a representation of the cosmos. Expanding circles of vibrant foliage and animals surround the center of the mandala, designed and screen-printed onto the cotton fabric by Osho Maharaja. Elephants, peacocks, and parrots populate the pattern in complementary carmine and sapphire blue hues. Created for use as a wall hanging or even as a bed cover, this mandala menagerie will brighten any space it is displayed in.
Osho left a good job as a an textile engineer to establish his own workshop. Determined to work with local artisans, especially women who needed to work from home in rural areas, he has grown his workshop and now provides jobs for others.
The association received an award in 2017 for their work and commitment to support the education of girls.
