From the female artisan group Ranm Ixoqi' of Chimaltenango, Guatemala, comes this multi-colored, loom-woven scarf. Ranm Ixoqi' means "woman's heart" in Kaqchikel, a language of Mayan descent still spoken in several departments in the central region of Guatemala. Using a traditional backstrap loom, rayon in lapis blue, dolphin grey, coal, avocado, imperial purple, fuchsia, amber, cornflower blue, and amber shades is hand-woven into this pretty striped scarf with fringe on the ends. The weaver is inspired in her choice of colors by the small town festivals commonly found throughout Guatemala where the food, games, and traditions create a varicolored landscape.
