Hand-woven Cotton Zapotec Bedspread (Twin), "Lavender Warmth"
Carmen Ruiz combines rich shades of purple, lilac and violet for the design of this warm twin size bedspread. Featuring off-white contrasts, the cotton yarn is dyed with natural pigments. Ruiz weaves the bedspread on a telar de chicote (whip loom), just like her parents taught her. This type of loom was introduced to Zapotec communities by the Spanish.

The craftsmanship is really nice. It was much larger than I expected which was a welcome surprise.

"Beautiful work"

This is a beautiful bedspread, beautiful colors and workmanship. It's a bit heavier and coarser than I had thought (thought it would be softer, more blanket-like) and I find it too heavy to have on me as an additional layer at night. But it looks great on the bed. I have no idea why it's called a king so check the actual measurements before buying. We have a queen bed and it fits like a comforter not a bedspread. That works fine for us as we have the mattress in a wooden bed frame, but don't expect it to go to the floor even on a queen bed. I don't hink it would even on a double. And it would be too small for anything on a king.
