Details

Carmen Ruiz combines rich shades of purple, lilac and violet for the design of this warm twin size bedspread. Featuring off-white contrasts, the cotton yarn is dyed with natural pigments. Ruiz weaves the bedspread on a telar de chicote (whip loom), just like her parents taught her. This type of loom was introduced to Zapotec communities by the Spanish.

"Beautiful work"

This is a beautiful bedspread, beautiful colors and workmanship. It's a bit heavier and coarser than I had thought (thought it would be softer, more blanket-like) and I find it too heavy to have on me as an additional layer at night. But it looks great on the bed. I have no idea why it's called a king so check the actual measurements before buying. We have a queen bed and it fits like a comforter not a bedspread. That works fine for us as we have the mattress in a wooden bed frame, but don't expect it to go to the floor even on a queen bed. I don't hink it would even on a double. And it would be too small for anything on a king.

Tad

the rugs you make are so beautiful but most are so small I only wish they were larger

Laura

Hi Carmen....I want to let you know that the Sunny Fields blanket I received from you brightens all of my mornings. It is beautiful! Also the yellow matches perfectly to a Napotec rug I bought from Mario. Thank you so much.

Absolutely fantastic! Except... The king size bedspread only fits a king bed if you put it on sideways, so you have tassels in your face when you sleep. Beautifully made, but the king size is just too small for a standard king size bed, if you want the tassels on the three sides and the sewn edge at the head of the bed as it was intended to be.
