“My name is Robert Escolastico Torre Malpartida. I was born in the city of Lima, Peru in 1968. I am a respectful man when it comes to art, and I am very responsible in my personal life and as an artist. I love sharing my knowledge with everyone who wants to listen and learn.
“Without a doubt, one of the most difficult stages in my life was the loss of my mother when I was very young. Thanks to her and her wisdom, I was able to rise above the pain and continue building a future for myself, accompanied only by my dreams.
“Beginning to work on my own and dedicating myself to what I love was not an easy task. I began by taking into account the composition of each piece, studying the color, texture, and finishing. I dedicated time, love, and a lot of discipline, always searching for my own personal style.
“I grew as an artist in the National Superior Autonomous School of Fine Arts in Lima. I was inspired by the beautiful works of artists as well as their skill and sensibility, transmitting experiences and sensations through their art. My two great friends and colleagues, Jose Miguel Collantes and Alejandro Fernandez, were the ones who motivated me to continue my studies as a painter.
“One of my biggest dreams is to be able to bring my pieces to international expositions so that they can be recognized. I would love to be able to travel with them, showing my valuable art and work.
“What I like the most about my art is the expressivity of the colors and textures of the landscapes and all of the sensations that they evoke. Some of the greatest challenges are finding the ideal contrast and colors. My inspiration comes from the beautiful landscapes of Peru, a country of contrast and vibrant colors, featuring differences in its climates and its cultural and natural richness. Painting is a sensitive and emotive art form. For me it is an honor to do what I truly love.”
