“My name is Clariza Estrada. I was born in the beautiful and historic department of Cuzco, where you can find the first Andean civilizations influenced by Wari and Tiwanaku cultures. It is also the cradle of the Inca empire, and site of the Vilcabamba Inca resistance against the Peruvian conquest. I could not be more proud of having been born in a place so privileged.
“I consider myself to be a creative, tenacious, and persistent woman when faced with the obstacles and situations that life presents me. I firmly believe that it is possible to achieve your goals if you work and have a strong will.
“My father was the one who began this line of work, and with his teachings I became interested in jewelry making from a young age. As his assistant, I polished the pieces. I really liked the process that silver went through in order to arrive at its final form. My parents bravely decided to have a workshop dedicated exclusively to creating jewelry pieces, and it was open to all who wanted to learn everything about silver jewelry. They trained and cultivated a seed of art in each of their assistants, and left their mark on this incredible craft.
“What I like the most about my art is being able to create a limitless number of designs. It is possible to bring my work to all kinds of people, and the most challenging is carrying on despite all of the obstacles and competition. Here I feel stronger than ever, and I continue creating pieces that people identify with.
“My culture inspires me. The place where I was born, my beloved Cuzco, is magical and has a very special energy in every corner. I feel very fortunate to be a part of this place, and I am greatly inspired to create beautiful pieces. My dreams are to be a well-known designer, recognized not only locally, but internationally, and to be able to continue empowering women to fulfil their dreams and goals.
“I am very happy to be a part of the Novica family and to be able to share my art with the world. I want to bring my art to many hearts.”
