Standing with open arms, a cuchimilco couple proudly represent Peru's Chancay culture, which flourished from 1200 to 1470 A.D. Their welcoming posture is believed to keep bad energies at bay. Cuchimilcos are always found in pairs of a man and a woman, symbolic of divine duality. Walter Jose Acosta masters ceramic techniques as he crafts each museum replica figurine by hand.

"Love thid pair"
After visiting Peru, was saddened that we didnt bring home more art for home, for we fell in love with the people, food and history. Novica and this amazing artist have provided us with a lovely treasure for our home. We bought 4 pieces, and this pair is a joy to see each day. High craftmanship, skill, and attention to detail are qualities of each piece. Highly recommend this artist's work. As a history buff this pair is absolutely lovely. My husband loves them too!

"Beautiful museum replicas"
We had seen numerous Chancay sculptures on a visit to the Larco museum in Lima, Peru. Walter's sculptures are beautifully done, the color and aging is really spot on! I love this pair, arms held wide, sitting at the top of my bookcase. They look far more expensive than you might expect for the price, they exceeded all my expectations! No need to worry about a breakable item being shipping from Peru- they were VERY well packed. This would make a delightful wedding gift for a traveling couple who appreciate world art!
