Infused with the exuberance of Bali's colorful birds, this batik robe by Desak Nyoman Parwati features blue, purple, and dark red patterns akin to a nuria, a small and beautiful Balinese bird. Makes for refreshing attire on a warm summer evening.
This handpainted batik robe is a truly original work of art. Sunlight, water, dye and temperature all factor into the look of the finished robe. This should be considered a unique design made especially for you. Colors and pattern placement will vary.

"Absolutely Gorgeous!"

"Affordable Luxury!"
I have bought many of these gorgeous robes from Bali and love every one! I feel so cool and comfortable in them all year here in FL. I always have at least 3 to alternate because I wear them all day at home. They are the most affordable luxurious lounge wear I own!

"Wearable Art! Lounge wear/Robe"
It doesnt matter your favorite pattern as I have several and have gifted these beautiful robes as well! They are so pretty, comfortable and look great inside and even for lounge wear around the pool, walking the dog, taking the kids to school with leggins and a tank top, checking the mail...no matter what you like to wear a robe for-with these beauties, youll find you can wear them out and people will stop you and want to know about them!

"Super Comfortable and Luxurious"
Love it...I am a size 1X and it fits. Don?t work around stove or sink with those sleeves though, they are long and cannot be rolled up - obviously. I love the feel of the fabric, light and soft. Colour is gorgeous.

"Beautiful robe - exactly like photos"
Just as described, really nice colors and soft to the touch. The size and length are exactly as described, it looks the same or better than the photos. High quality fabric and impeccable stitching. Arrived sooner than I was expecting, packed in a nice little fabric case that matches the robe. I highly recommend, great experience all around. Thank-you to the artisan for creating something so beautiful.

For eleven years Desak worked with a batik artisan learning all aspects of the process, from wax painting to dyeing. From her, she learned not only the art of batik and textile design but also how to care for her workers. In her workshop, Desak and the older artisans generously teach their art to the younger artisans, preserving for another generation this UNESCO cultural treasure.
Desak Nyoman Parwati has received 3 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $2800 and the most recent for $4000. Proceeds were used to invest in the purchase of textiles and batik dyes to increase production in time for the holiday season.
Through perseverance, Desak has grown her workshop. She now employs members of her family and give jobs to other artisans in her community.
The Women's Empowerment badge is awarded to female artisans or artisan groups that are led by women.
Desak works hard to care for her three children and does all she can to give them a better life.
This artist has dramatically improved their livelihood by working with NOVICA.
Desak provides for the education of her three children.
