Stars glimmer as they drift in a pale green Balinese sea. Named baliku, this handsome batik pattern by Desak Nyoman Parwati means "this is my Bali." It takes shape in a delightful robe featuring a flattering front-wrap style, wide sleeves and matching belt. The robe has on-seam pockets on both sides.
This handpainted batik robe is a truly original work of art. Sunlight, water, dye and temperature all factor into the look of the finished robe. This should be considered a unique design made especially for you.

"Just Wow!"
This is my third batik robe. They are so soft, the elegance I feel wearing them makes me feel like a queen. I love them all and cherish the artist and all of the time, patience and beauty it takes to create such a beautiful robe. Totally recommend and obviously would buy again! I love them so!

I enjoy wearing my robe everytime I put it on. The colours are beautiful. I am 59 and the length is great. Very comfortable and the material is very soft. I will enjoy this robe for many years to come.

"Super Comfortable and Luxurious"
Love it...I am a size 1X and it fits. Don?t work around stove or sink with those sleeves though, they are long and cannot be rolled up - obviously. I love the feel of the fabric, light and soft. Colour is gorgeous.

"Beautiful robe - exactly like photos"
Just as described, really nice colors and soft to the touch. The size and length are exactly as described, it looks the same or better than the photos. High quality fabric and impeccable stitching. Arrived sooner than I was expecting, packed in a nice little fabric case that matches the robe. I highly recommend, great experience all around. Thank-you to the artisan for creating something so beautiful.

Bright & cheery, light with good airflow. Didnt give them a 5 star due to the ear straps being so large- required a bit of modification.

From her, she learned not only the art of batik and textile design but also how to care for her workers. In her workshop, Desak and the older artisans generously teach their art to the younger artisans, preserving for another generation this UNESCO cultural treasure.
Desak Nyoman Parwati has received 3 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $2800 and the most recent for $4000. Proceeds were used to invest in the purchase of textiles and batik dyes to increase production in time for the holiday season.
Through perseverance, Desak has grown her workshop. She now employs members of her family and give jobs to other artisans in her community.
The Women's Empowerment badge is awarded to female artisans or artisan groups that are led by women.
Desak works hard to care for her three children and does all she can to give them a better life.
This artist has dramatically improved their livelihood by working with NOVICA.
Desak provides for the education of her three children.
