For this set of ceramic coffee cups, Pedro Alba puts together a colorful bouquet to celebrate the floral beauty of the state of Guanajuato. Painted by hand with bright colors, the flowers bloom on a cobalt blue trellis. Alba expertly reproduces the millenary art of Talavera, a type of majolica ceramics brought to Mexico from Spain in the 16th century.
My sister-in-law was so delighted with these, she sent me a photo of her first cup of coffee in them.

I love these mugs, but after three years, I've only got two left, and one of them is chipped. They're fragile. I'm tough on coffee mugs, I guess. My regular coffee mug (not this) is from Starbucks and has weathered a decade of my treatment without a chip. My suggestion is to consider how easy you are on mugs before you purchase.

"I learned from an early age to work hard to be able to provide for one's family, because I had to work when I was in primary school."
