"I was born in Yogyakarta with a very nice birth date — June 6, 1966. Some people say that six-six-six is a lucky number and I will always have good fortune. But I believed that every lucky thing that happens in your life is base on your efforts and God's blessing, not your date of birth.
"My childhood was very happy. I played all the traditional games with friends in my neighborhood, which is near the train station. But we played in a safe community space.
"I've loved painting since I was a child. When I was in junior high, I won a national prize for painting and was sent to India where I was awarded a silver medal. My parents back me in my desire for painting and they love me very much because I am the only child.
"After finishing high school, I took painting as my major in the Indonesia Art University. From then on, I've lived my life painting.
"I married a beautiful woman I love so much. My wife is full of understanding about living with a painter. She supports my decision and also helps to support the family by selling chicken satay. We have one child and, together, we raise him with all the love we have.
